Foxhills – Surrey

Ten minutes from the M25, 20 minutes from Heathrow Airport and a great train link to all London stations, only 25 minutes by train from Woking to London Waterloo.

What's on offer

Billed as a “Country Club in Surrey”, this is no stuffy Gentleman’s retreat.  A sports and health spa paradise for all, Foxhills is a great leisure and business resort whether you want to detox in style, host a board meeting for 10 or stage a major conference or event.

Why they are special

They have been a family run resort for 35 years and provide a flexible day which suits all with ‘an oasis of tranquillity’. Their aim is to make sure you leave Foxhills feeling better than you arrived.

Whether entertaining senior executives or your top clients, holding a small meeting or team building event, the Conference and Banqueting team are right on their game from the moment you arrive having swept up the main drive. Classic meeting rooms like The Study and The Library add a formal feel to your day, whilst The Clubhouse offers a much more relaxed atmosphere and bright modern space, perfect for awards dinners, sporting and charity events for up to 180 guests. The Banqueting menus are extensive and realistically priced, but if you get the chance prior to your site visit book a table in the Manor Restaurant and enjoy the culinary excellence of one of Surrey’s finest AA Rosette Awarded dining experience.

Hint: try their smoked salmon, they smoke it in their own smoke house. They have been smoking for over 20 years and as well as Salmon they smoke their cheese and meats. I also recommend the Orangery in the Manor House, a beautiful combination of tradition and modernism with natural lighting and access to the terrace will really add the WOW factor.

TOP TIP: Holding an event where Broadband is key? Good news! Foxhills has listened to client feedback and upgraded their broadband to a super speedy 700 MB, allowing guests to access high quality WIFI all around the resort. Private corporate clients can benefit from their own private, self-contained network with a minimum bandwidth guarantee of 100Mb (burstable to 300Mb if needed).

Why don’t you bring along your partner or a friend? With the choice of relaxing at an award-winning spa, playing on a 2 championship golf courses and 50 gym classes to choose from; being spoilt for choice isn’t all bad. Foxhills Spa is not at all ordinary, they have themed their spa around 50’s life at the seaside, with each treatment room named by a local seaside town, quirky or what? Outside they have a beach hut, serving quick snacks and drinks, so relax in the Surrey countryside whilst feeling like have stepped back in time to the 50s. Choose from a choice of 5 swimming pools, indoor and out. Swim like a fish in their naturally ran pool which is unheated and ran by plants (it does look a bit like a pond, but don’t be fooled, it’s checked 3 times a day)

Funny story: This was like no other launch for a pool, members brought raffle tickets and the winner got to push the MD, Marc Hayton, in, in mid-November. To make it worse, Marc had to sit in the sauna before-hand, to make sure he felt the full benefit.

Many people will know Foxhills for its golf. “Three quality courses combine parkland and heathland to provide challenges to golfers of every level”.  Website speak sure, but feedback from golfers we met raved about the par three nine hole Manor Course and the two Championship courses namely Longcross (in Golf World’s top 100 courses in England) or Bernard Hunt (home to the Senior PGA Professional Championship)

But don’t run away with the idea that the little ball rules at Foxhills. Their superb gym has won “Gym of the Year” for three consecutive years” which will wow the gym goers and the class timetable is really impressive. If two wheels is more your thing then what better base to explore the Surrey countryside made famous by Cavendish and Froome in the London Olympics? As the official resort partner of the Tour of Britain, Foxhills has even gone that extra mile by naming bedrooms after cycling sporting heroes. You too could be staying in Wiggins and Armistead!

It really is “Game set and Match Foxhills” though when it comes to their brilliant tennis facilities. Without doubt one of the leading tennis clubs in London and the South, you could to be rubbing shoulders with Johanna Konta and Laura Robson on one of eleven tennis courts : three all weather, three new artificial clay and five acrylic.

All this activity and relaxation made me wonder when people actually get the time to attend conferences, meetings and events. But they do in their droves with many getting the chance to say “I do”.

Foxhills is all about leaving and “feeling better than when you arrived”. In most cases that is bound to happen.
