If heading North or South on the A1, take the A69 signposted Hexham and Carlisle. Exit the A69 at Heddon on the Wall and pick up the B6318, just before the Three Tuns public house, heading west towards Chollerford. Continue on the B6318 for seven miles, the turning for Matfen is on the right.
From the A69 west take the A68 North, join the B6318 heading east at the Stagshaw roundabout, two miles North of Corbridge. Follow signs to Heddon on the Wall/Newcastle; Matfen turning in on the left after two and a half miles.
From the turning the road travels for two miles and the Hotel is on the right hand side.
