Historically, the hotel would have been a handy resting place for travellers on the turnpike roads of yesteryear before they journeyed into the wilder and more rugged country to the South and West. The building was also the hub of the business and farming communities of Mid Wales, especially on Market Days when the bars would be crowded with farmers from the surrounding countryside and many deals would be struck over a “drop or two”.

Nowadays Knighton is better known as one of the major tourist and commercial centres of Mid Wales and the fully refurbished Knighton Hotel is a welcoming destination, whether you are enjoying a family holiday, arranging a business conference or celebrating a wedding, birthday or anniversary.
