The real log fire is also a crowd pleaser on the chilly nights.

There are no fruit or quiz machines, no TV's, no pool table and only background music to help keep the atmosphere light and pleasant.

The Jockey is very dog-friendly (water bowl and treats) and has become popular with local walkers and cyclists, being situated close to the eastern side of the Erewash Valley Trail.
