THE COMMUNITY SPACE PARTNERSHIP is a Newport based network of eight community groups; it has been formed as a response to the need for a collaborative effort to provide a central venue that will enable those ethnic minority communities to meet, to carry out project work and to share information. Each of the organisations provides support to their cultural community and assists them to integrate into Welsh and British society. The organisations each offer educational, cultural and social support; they signpost to other organisations to help with particular issues such as isolation and language barriers, accessing services and information on rights. Whilst they are able to make use of a number of community buildings in the area, there is a lack of dedicated space for permanent exhibitions, displays, events and information.
