The Main Hall seats 2,459 people and, designed with comfort in mind, is fully carpeted and air conditioned. The stage offers great flexibility since it comprises of ten hydraulic lifts enabling different stage depths and levels to be obtained to suit any variety of events. The majority of seating in the Arena is made up of 9 'Wagons' which can be removed and a promenade area created. In addition, by lowering the stage a large flat arena is formed suitable for marching bands, snooker, table tennis and ice shows ! All in all it is probably one of the most technically advanced stage set-ups in the UK. Flexibility is probably the Concert Hall's greatest asset, from the Auditorium, spacious foyers with marble clad walls filled with natural daylight lead to the impressive Strathclyde Suite and Exhibition Hall.
