Situated close to Ware in Hertfordshire, Hanbury Manor Hotel and Country Club is a luxury country retreat with 161 bedrooms and suites, plus comprehensive dining, fitness, leisure, event, conference and business facilities. Its location, 15km south of London Stansted airport, 40km north of London City centre and well connected to major road and rail routes, makes it a convenient location for visitors travelling from the UK and overseas.

In addition to its leisure and wedding facilities, it offers a complete range of services for business events and conferences including 14 meeting rooms, state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and 1300 square meters of flexible event space. The championship 18-hole golf course, designed by Harry Vardon and latterly updated by Jack Nicklaus II, has hosted the English Open several times. The hotel even brews its own Hanbury Ale from an original family recipe which is available in the restaurants and bars.

      It would be great to learn a little more and please do tell us about any team members that went the extra mile for you?

      I liaised with Oliver throughout the process from booking the meeting room and then needing overnight accommodation and a dinner. The event went very well and our guests were very pleased. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. The dinner we held was delicious and the staff couldn't do enough for you. The meeting the following day went very well, the room was perfect and the tea/coffee facilities were topped up throughout the day with delicious cakes/pastries. Lunch was very tasty - plenty of it. Thank you very much.

      Do you have any good advice/tips for other bookers/organiser?

      I would suggest you use signage for lunch in the meeting areas stating which food belongs to which meeting room to save confusion.

      Emma Carroll from the Events team made sure everything is in place before our arrival. She meticulously amended/cancelled/re-booked for as long as we needed bedrooms or meeting spaces. She was constantly keeping me informed about the occupancy at the hotel and offering solutions to our challenges! Onsite we had an amazing team for the Gala Dinner led by Marian and his wife Becky - I can only say, every single point from his function sheet was met on time and there was anything that was too much for them! During the conference, we had John and his team - again, 100% satisfaction with the service. John participated actively in the internal organisation and was always one step ahead!! A big THANK YOU to everyone involved, the event was a great success!!

      Do you have any good advice/tips for other bookers/organiser?

      The property is quite extensive and depending on 1) where your bedrooms are located and 2) what kind of services you provide for your client, you might want to consider to have an extra person onsite.
