LQ (Formerly Liquid & Envy) opened its doors in November 2006. Since it's launch it has cemented its status as being one of the best clubs in Newcastle. Situated in a listed building built by John Dobson in 1827 the venue was converted from a Private residence to a Theatre in the 1920’s a Cinema in the 1930’s and then finally a late night drinking and dancing venue in the 1960’s known by many names such as The Oxford - Tiffany’s, Ritzy & Ikon to name a few. This venue has always been a huge part of Newcastle’s Entertainment scene and was even featured in the 1971 movie “Get Carter”.
