overview
The National Indoor Arena (The NIA) is one of the busiest large scale indoor sporting and entertainment venues in Europe. Since opening in 1991, it has welcomed visitors to over 30 different sports and hosted the worlds largest music and performance artists.
The multi-purpose arena is as flexible as they come, staging concerts, entertainment spectaculars, business conferences and exhibitions.
Set for completion in Dec 2014 the NIA is undergoing a £26 million transformation, the redevelopment aims to take advantage of its unique location on the city's canal side and will feature a new showcase entrance straight from Brindley place into the arena, with a dramatic glazed frontage overlooking the water and the city.
The redevelopment is phased around the event programme meaning that that NIA is open and available for bookings throughout the project apart from a short shutdown period of June/July/Aug 2014.
