overview
For almost 300 years Segedunum, which means 'strong fort', was home to 600 Roman soldiers. Today, Segedunum is once again the gateway to this world-famous heritage site. Guests can enjoy the reconstructed Roman bath house, modern visitor centre with interactive computer simulations and view the remains of the fort from the viewing tower.
Segedunum houses an attractive self-contained function suite, with modern facilities and easy access to the fort. The Daniels Room is a flexible space, popular for training sessions and workshops. The Corder Room is ideal for board meetings, interviews or away days, and has the advantage of some remarkable views of the Fort and River Tyne.
