In spring 2010 the RED GALLERY launched on site as a pop gallery and events space with a projected three month life span. It was due to be demolished that summer to make way for the Art ‘Otel. True to market form, the hotel project ground to a halt and the RED GALLERY continued to host a series of notable art and music events throughout 2010.
The Red Gallery has four multi-purpose spaces that regularly play host to cutting edge art and music events.
Entrance is through the glass fronted Lower West Gallery, which when flooded with natural daylight, is ideally suited to day time events, and has great views down both Great Eastern and Rivington Street.
The Lower West Gallery, which also features its own bar, is whitewashed as is the adjoining Lower East Gallery and the Upper Gallery, and they are all ideal exhibition spaces. These are offset in feel by the more industrial and cavernous Great Eastern Gallery in the basement, home to a range of high profile club events.
