The Gun

A Grade II listed early 19th century building, steeped in history, The Gun is located on the banks of the River Thames in the heart of the Docklands with multiple spaces which suit a variety of events.

The Gun takes its name from the cannon, fired to celebrate the opening of the West India Import Docks in 1802 and was allegedly home to Lord Nelson’s secret assignations with his lover Lady Emma Hamilton.

The pub has been painstaking restored to its former glory, with a significant investment to bring the building up to modern standards without losing any of the charm or history that makes The Gun so special.

The main area within The Gun is the dining room which holds up to 80 guests seated however the real charm in the venue lies in the multitude of different settings throughout the building. Whether it’s grabbing a seat by the fire in the Gun Room, the wonderful panelled walls in the Cabin Room, dining in the River Room where Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton met.
